Hey fellow maddenites. I've been struggling really bad against the Power O from Strong I (fullback offset to strong side). It's the worst against backs like Deangelo Williams and AP who can outrun you inside and run you over outside.

I run the Philly D playbook. 46 front with overload to that side has had some success, but then counter weak knocks me off that. Anyone encounter this play and have some good tips to stop it?

Long time lurker first time poster seeking any and all thoughts on how to improve 3rd down defense (or pass d in general). I play as the Cardinals in online franchise (PHI D Playbook). I can't seem to find a way to slow down spread formations (i.e. 3+ WR). It's killing me on 3rd down. I've tried a mix of zone, man, zone/man blitz out of dime, nickel, etc.

Any tips, tricks, suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I been trying this defense since the game has came out and instead of getting better it seems im getting worse. The defense is the 3-4 and i cant stop the run nor can i bring heat on the offense to disrupt there flow. So i ask is there a way to get better at playing this defense or is there a way to be able to stop the run from this defense set. The redskins and the bears are my teams who i try to play the 3-4 as. So if anyone has a thought on how to work this defense and to be able to get better ...

DISCLAIMER(S)

If you are looking for free nice blitzes, then you are looking in the wrong place. Nice blitzes with great coverage and pressure from everywhere are hard to find (as they should be). Defense is in this year's game, you just have to really work for it.

Now on to the Show

Coverage Tips

Default hook zones vs. playmakered hook zones.

These behave very differently so you should know the difference between them. From now on, I will refer to playmakered hook zones ...

3-4 Predator

Play

cover 3

Benefits of Predator:

plays like a 4-3 but allows you to move the SAM (on RE position from 3 pt stance) any where on the field without him automatically moving back once you change off him.

step one:

Move SAM off the rt hip of the NT (a little off the LOS)

step two:

HR bltz MIK on rt side of screen move him of the left hip of NT

Step three:

Play Saftey responsible for hook zone

You can run this out of ANY 46 play that doesnt blitz, i usually run it out of Cover 2 Hawk, Cover 3 Press, or Cover 4

Set Up ( Im saying positions by how you look at the screen.)

Make LE contain, Re Blitz the other 3 lineman down. Take the Down safety or a LB and place him on the line in between the Right DT and Right DE. Try to place him a little closer to the Right DE.

This play provides good zone and easy pressure. If the QB roles right, there dead and if they role left ...

The 46 Normal defensive formation provides one of the most balanced looks in the game when attempting to stop both the run and the pass. In this tip, going to reveal and easy way to create consistent B-gap pressure using any play from this formation. What we like about this blitz is that you can use any two linebackers to create the pressure with. The play that we'll be using in the first example that we show is the 46 Normal LB Contain.
