Hey fellow maddenites. I've been struggling really bad against the Power O from Strong I (fullback offset to strong side). It's the worst against backs like Deangelo Williams and AP who can outrun you inside and run you over outside.

I run the Philly D playbook. 46 front with overload to that side has had some success, but then counter weak knocks me off that. Anyone encounter this play and have some good tips to stop it?

3rd down defense sucks - need help!

Long time lurker first time poster seeking any and all thoughts on how to improve 3rd down defense (or pass d in general). I play as the Cardinals in online franchise (PHI D Playbook). I can't seem to find a way to slow down spread formations (i.e. 3+ WR). It's killing me on 3rd down. I've tried a mix of zone, man, zone/man blitz out of dime, nickel, etc.

Any tips, tricks, suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I been trying this defense since the game has came out and instead of getting better it seems im getting worse. The defense is the 3-4 and i cant stop the run nor can i bring heat on the offense to disrupt there flow. So i ask is there a way to get better at playing this defense or is there a way to be able to stop the run from this defense set. The redskins and the bears are my teams who i try to play the 3-4 as. Push Y, then hold down RT and down on both joysticks, when the ball is hiked release the right joystick.. On ps3 I would assume just sub in triangle for Y and R2 for RT..

I only played 3 games while I was drunk but I noticed it was pretty easy to create nanos from this formation. I can't remember what plays or what adjustments I made cuz I was drunk but I know I had found 3 nanos in just a few games.. Just a heads up u all might wana lab up some 3-4 under plays.

This play is a nano. Most nanos don't stop the run but i discovered this when I was labbing. It stops most short yardage plays, inside runs, and pitches. 2) audible down to the play nickel 3-3-5 de contain
3) many different setups after this i like to hit R! then right stick up so i got 2 guys in yellow zones. u can also put these guys in purple zones

setup: slide line left, and blitz down the LDE, LDT, and the other DT on that side.
contain the RDT, or RDE
**optional** blitz the LOLB for better pressure on the left side.

If its the End of the game, Pick the Play Drop Zone and make both your ends contain and back your coverage up. BLitz the Nose Guard down and Control him. Fill the middle and try to chase the QB outside its an easy sack or int.

Spotlight: risk or reward

spotlighting a receiver is a risk reward situation. If you were to
spotlight a receiver, and he's running a deep post you consider that
reward because they wont be able to execute the cover 3 glitch, but if
they had a receiver running a fade or a streak, then its risk because
the CB will keep guarding the dep post WR leaving the streak wide open.
So just be careful when using the spotlight. Also, spotlighting the HB will slow the run down

How to Make a nano Out of Any 3-4 Play

With most 3-4 plays you can make a nano simply by doing a few small steps.

1. Scoot your line inward
2. Blitz your Nose Tackle forward
3. Bring the 2 MLBs on both sides of the NT and blitz them forward.
Its really easy and your only blitzing 5.

You may also need to change some zones of players who arnt blitzing if you feel your opponent is attacking a ceratin area.

is a way I discovered today that contains the Dricet Snap to 2 or 3
yards. I was labbin Bears against Titans, so I had Urlacher against
frail Chris Johnson. I found out that if you blitz a LB and move him
about 4 yards back, he gets to the HB as soon as he hits the Oline. You
should also put both DE's on contains to try and stop the outside dip,
but you don't have to.
